Monique Umphrey

Dr. Monique Umphrey is the Vice President of Workforce Innovation & College-Wide Dean of Information Technology at Cuyahoga Community College.  In 2014, she immediately started implementing ways to improve the College’s computer networking and programming educational tracks and planned for expansions into areas including data analytics, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and cyber security. New certificate programs in data analytics, cloud computing and data center management were rolled out in fall 2015 along with a graduate certificate in cyber security analytics.  Monique’s goal is to unite and leverage the strengths of existing academic offerings and workforce development training to optimize career and educational opportunities for Tri-C students.  Dr. Umphrey was selected into the inaugural class of the Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence, a rigorous, ten-month executive leadership program for aspiring community college presidents led by the Aspen Institute and the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative. She has 20+ years of IT experience; with 8+ years leading large scale projects at Fortune 500 companies and 8+ years in Enterprise Level Configuration Management.  She also was an Adjunct Instructor in Information Systems Management and is certified for both online and classroom teaching.

Prior to Cuyahoga Community College, Monique was employed as Senior Project Manager, Supply Chain at the Hospital Corporation of American (HCA) responsible for strategic planning prioritization for project roadmap, outlining high-level corporate goals and milestones.  Monique’s impressive professional career is comprised of IT management positions at Med Solutions, ACS (Xerox), Bridgestone/Firestone, and as Adjunct Instructor at the University of Phoenix and Volunteer State Community College.
